Country Manager Indonesia at Terra Energy & Resource Technologies, (TERT) Inc.

I wrote an article that was published in a monthly Indonesian Oil & Gas magazine in December 2014, I revisited this article recently out of curiosity, as I was wondering if a lot has changed since then. There has of course been several changes in Indonesia over this period, the low cost of oil has probably not helped the cause. Several of the large International companies have basically pulled up sticks or have had to diverse some of their operations due to the government's nationalistic policies. The constant merry-go-round of people in government and the state-owned companies does not help the cause either. One thing that has not changed is the constant cry of "we need to carry out exploration and we need investment" every new energy minister has uttered these words including the president of the country and Pertamina. In my opinion, unless the GOI, local banks and entrepreneurs invest in their own country, it is hard to see how and for of exploration will be carried out. Based on this, I have decided to publish the article on LinkedIn as it is believed that the article is still relevant in most aspects, even the figures that were quoted have not changed a lot.
